With corn starch as raw material, high purity lactic acid was prepared by biological fermentation and purification, and then lactide was prepared, and polylactic acid was polymerized with lactide as raw material. Polylactic acid raw materials can be recycled, the product can be degraded, which is conducive to solving the increasingly serious "white pollution".
Polylactic acid also has the following six advantages:
First, renewable raw material sources: mainly from corn stalks, cotton stalks, dead trees and other renewable resources, is the product of photosynthesis.
Second, natural antibacterial: Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria can reach more than 95%.
Third, natural flammability: oxygen limit index 26%-27%, better than commonly used polyester and other materials, and low smoke, no black smoke
4. Human affinity and safety: raw lactic acid is an endogenous substance of the human body, PLA can be decomposed into lactic acid metabolism and absorption in the human body, PLA is an FDA-certified human implant material, and has been applied in the medical field.
5. Complete biodegradability: It can be absorbed and metabolized by the human body, and under landfill conditions after waste, the product is completely degraded into CO₂ and H₂O through the microbial action in soil or seawater, realizing the carbon cycle on the surface.
Excellent processing performance: PLA processing temperature 170~230℃, can be processed in a variety of ways, such as extrusion, spinning, two-way stretching, injection, blow molding, foaming, blister and so on.
Based on the above advantages of polylactic acid, polylactic acid can be applied to various fields involved in human eating, wearing, living and traveling through melting, extrusion, spinning, blowing film, injection molding, foaming, rotunding and other molding processes, replacing petroleum plastics and petroleum chemical fibers, and improving the living environment!
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said it is necessary to speed up the cultivation of strategic emerging industries, create new growth points such as bio-manufacturing, and further increase construction efforts. Local governments are actively deploying the bio-manufacturing industry.
At present, the penetration rate of bio-manufacturing technology in China's food industry has reached more than 10%, and the output of bulk bio-fermentation products accounts for more than 70% of the world. Experts estimate that in the future, about 70% of products can be produced by biological methods, which is expected to create an economic value of 30 trillion US dollars.
